“Datong is really more beautiful than before, and every year there are new changes. I feel that every time I travel here, I have witnessed the change of Datong these years. I’m looking forward to the more wonderful future.” Mr. Li, participating in the cross country bicycle competition in the volcano group,   was full of emotional thoughts, and it’s the third times for him to come to Datong. The 2016 Shanxi tourism development conference will be inaugurated in Datong City at the end of august. At present, some sports activities have preheated the conference, and the way of promoting sports with travel together is also make people feel and witness in advance the city's quality and innovation of the tourism environment.

  On July 23rd, accompanied by melodious horns, 40 teams of more than 2000 people from all over the country gethered in the Huayan Temple Square, having the third session of Datong International Riding Competition. This is the third year for our city to hold such a contest. Based on sports leisure, we make full use of the existing resources to create a cultural tourism brand, which is not only a new way of the developing cultural tourism, but also a good platform to display Datong. In this riding tour conference, many events are scheduled in the Huayan Temple, the ancient city, the volcano group and so on. With the driving wheels, the beautiful hills and waters, open and inclusive cultural charm as well as the city charm of livable and tourist make participants a clear view. Datong and its more and more beautiful environment of tourism are also impressive. At the same time, another well-known scenic spot in Mt. Hengshan, is also meeting with sports enthusiasts from all over the country. On July 24th, more than 1500 runners following the Chinese largest theme tour event “Climbing gym mountains in China”, gathered in Mt. Hengshan and challenging the strongest step racing track of 3999 steps. Mt. Hengshan is one of the most famous five mountains, and the eighteen spots of Mt. Hengshan is a must for tourists. The Mid-air Temple is the first attraction. In 2010, the American magazine "Time"named it as one of the world's ten most unusual buildings. In recent years, the software and hardware facilities of Mt. Hengshan tourism continue to improve. The expressway of east, west, north, south in Hunyuan County has been open to traffic successively, greatly facilitating the tourists around the world to visit the beautiful scenery of Mt. Hengshan. Some participants said that they felt more sports passion and it was an unforgettable event for them to compete in such scenery. Of course, they remember not only the Mt. Hengshan firmly, but also the city of Datong.
